Mystery photos

One of the benefits of doing this family history is pooling our knowledge about our extended family. We all have photos which have been handed down without captions, of people and places that are now unknown. Do you recognise any of these?1) Or any of the others on this website where identification is uncertain?

SUCCESS! Thank you to Christopher Valttila who has written a book titled Peerless about his great-grandfather Lord Henry Phipps. From Christopher's information, this third photo is Lord Henry's father the Marquess of Normanby who was the Governor of Queensland 1871-74.

2) 3) From Christopher Valttila's information, this photo is of Lord Henry Phipps, son of the Marquess of Normanby. Lord Henry owned the Hollow near Tamrookum from 1878-89; Christopher Valttila says that Lord Henry and his wife Norma (Lady Phipps) knew Nora Murray-Prior quite well.
