His photo (shown below) was published in //The Queenslander Pictorial//, 26 February 1916, p.23. He was 5' 8"tall and weighed 10 stone, 2 pounds. He disembarked in France on 27 March 1916; just four months later, he was killed in action on 29 July 1916 at Pozières, France.
